A journey into the All Good Funk Alliance vaults uncovering nuggets from their Funk Weapons & Super Hi-Fi labels. Welcome to part two of an occasional series where Jalapeno Records drops a compilation highlighting the killer tracks and unreleased rarities of a previously (and sometimes criminally) overlooked catalogue. Part One went stateside into the Fort Knox Five vaults and we are back stateside for Part Two with our brothers All Good Funk Alliance. Frank Cueto and Rusty B better known as All Good Funk Alliance are two of the hottest producers in the funk & breaks ghetto. As well as their own AGFA productions they are bringing through a whole new school of producers on their two labels Funk Weapons and Super Hi-Fi. Alongside Jalapeno, Good Groove, Fort Knox Recordings and all the other labels that rock the funky beat, they are pushing the funk sound - whether as old school hip hop or uptempo breaks - whatever it is, its got to be funky! Based in Virginia, the boys regularly tour the globe as DJ's and are coming to the UK in November to promote the album with a one off Jalapeno Sound System show at the Big Chill House. The boys have been working together since 1997 dropping everything from hip-hop and uptempo b-boy jams on their Funk Weapons label through to funked up house beats on Super Hi-Fi. The tracklisting reads like a who's who of J-Funk. AGFA of course in full effect, Kraak & Smaak, Featurecast, Tal M Klein, Neighbour, Omegaman all either re-rubbed in an AGFA style or hot off the vinyl press from the AGFA labels. Starting out at hip hop tempo, the mixed version on CD 1 is a masterclass, building through 80's style electroboogie to full on funk breaks. Standout tracks from Calagad 13 and Nick Fonkynson show that the AGFA boys are as keen to push their crew as they are to push themselves. Here at Jalapeno we're aware that not everyone loves vinyl quite as much as we do, so CD 2 features full length unmixed versions of the cream of the crop for those DJ's that don't see back problems as all in the game.. There is even a wallet card tracklisting downloadable from the Jalapeno website.
