Jalapeno continue their quest to bring you the funkiest breakers from around the globe. Joining Dutch labelmates Kraak & Smaak and following Australia’s Resin Dogs on the label we have Maelstrom & Napz- two of France’s finest exponents of the funk party break.
Lead track "Spell It" has more funk in it’s run-out groove than most tracks do in their entirety. "Blue Cat Sessions" takes a classic vocal sample and cut’s it up for today’s jazzier DJ’s to get their teeth into. "The Sinner" completes the package with a more downbeat selection for backrooms and bars. Maelstrom is a born funkateer and has released records on a variety of the Globe’s funkier labels including Lab-Rok in his native France and Lounge in Germany. Production partner NAPZ is the soundtrack man with his ability to build textures around leftfield vocal samples meaning he has been in great demand in the film world for his scoring abilities.
